Software Registration in China Increases Nearly 30 Percent in the First Half This Year

(Xinhua News Agency) In the first half this year, a total of 14,540 pieces of software are registered in China (including software copyright registrations and contract registrations), 27.4 percent higher than the same period last year, which is 11414. Of the amount, the number of software copyright registrations hits 13,999, up 29.12 percent than last year’s 10,842.

Beijing ranks No.1 in the list of software registration with 5,053 pieces registered, up 27.5 percent year on year, accounting 34.75 percent of the country’s total; following Beijing, Guangzhou registers 1,910, a year-on-year growth of 39.9 percent, rating 13.13 percent; Shanghai follows Guangzhou, ranking No.3 with the number of software registrations reaching 1,428, growing 13.2 percent year on year, occupying a proportion of 9.8 percent; a total of 1,021 pieces of software are registered in Jiangsu, which ranks No.4, up 36.1 percent year on year, accounting for 7 percent of the total; Zhejiang occupies the fifth place with 953 pieces of software registered, a year-on-year growth of 11 percent, accounting for 6.55 percent.

Compared with the same period of last year, Beijing, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Shandong, Sichuan, Shaanxi and Hubei maintain comparatively higher growth, exceeding 27 percent each.
