In a recent circular, the Ministry of Culture calls for the development of a national karaoke content management and service system with the aim to boost IPR compliance of karaoke establishments and prosperity of original ethnic music.

The system will employ domestically innovated technologies and standards in program recording, transmission and encryption, offer better access for original ethnic music, which encourages creation and distribution of such music and bolsters competitiveness of the Chinese cultural industry.
