WIPO and Intellectual Property Offices of Some Countries Extend Messages of Sympathy to SIPO for Wenchuan Earthquake

Recently, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) of EU, Italian Patent and Trademark Office and Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan extend messages to SIPO, expressing deep sympathy for the recent violent earthquake in Wenchuan County of Sichuan Province, China.

In his message, WIPO Deputy Director General Francis Gurry notes that the violent earthquake causes great casualties to China and he is deeply grieved; at the crucial moment, he firmly stands together with Chinese people. He believes that the firm and unyielding Chinese people will surely conquer the difficulties.

Wubbo de Boer, Director of European Community Trademark, Maria Ludovica Agro, Director of Italian Patent and Trademark Office and Yasin Tahir, Director General of Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan pay their sincere tribute to Chinese people for their unity and efforts in disaster relief work, express high appreciation for the rapid, high effective and large scale relief work to the people in the disaster regions taken by Chinese Government, and extend deep sympathy and support to victims of the earthquake and their family members.
