According to the General Administration of Customs (GAC), Operation Dragon Boat drew to a close after half year long intense actions since October 1, 2007. Customs authorities nationwide seized 6,179 times of infringing goods with total worth 300 million yuan intending to cross the border.
Being the largest IPR protection campaign waged by customs in years, the operation aimed to effectively curbed export of infringing goods to uphold the international reputation of Made in China. Tasked by GAC the central command, local authorities exercised extra caution in their routine checks and added aggressive risk analysis which led to effective seizures of infringing goods.
