(CNS News) The first phase of 103rd China Import and Export Fair ends on April 20 with the number of IPR-related complaints reduced greatly.
Various trading delegations and chambers of commerce of the fair strengthen their efforts of IPR protection, attaching importance to pre-fair inspections and information publicities. Meanwhile, in order to improve working efficiency, the Complaint Reception Office of the fair further defines specific working procedures and stipulates detailed rules for several circumstances so that staff in different groups can settle complaints in precise, standardized and unified way.
Statistics show that the Complaint Reception Office has received 203 complaint cases, involving in 302 enterprises, down 15.42 percent and 17.71 percent year on year. A total of 188 enterprises are suspected of having infringed IPR, and five are affirmed the right of counterplea, decreasing 9.18 percent and 61.54 percent year on year.
According to the regulations related to IPR protection of the fair, those participant enterprises that are suspected of having infringed IPR in a fair will be notified to corresponding trading delegations; for those enterprises that have suspected activities of infringing patents and copyrights for successive two terms of fairs or accumulated three terms of fairs, or have suspected activities of infringing trademark right for accumulated two terms of fairs, or counterfeit and imitate other patents and registered trademarks, such enterprises will be canceled the qualifications of participating the fair for six terms and will be publicized at the fair. For those enterprises that display the products that have been judged infringement through legal or administrative processes, or for those that are canceled the qualifications of participating in the fair for several terms and are suspected of infringing IPR again when resuming the qualifications, the fair will permanently cancel their qualifications of participating China Import and Export Fair and publicize the information at the fair.
