Ningbo Intermediate People's Court entered a judgement of first instance, ordering Ningbo Hongfei Electric Appliance Company to cease manufacture and sale of Osram's patented products and to indemnify Osram 150,000 yuan in damages.

In early August 2007, Osram found sale by Hongfei of products identical with its patented portable lamps on the Internet and filed the case to the Ningbo court, seeking injunction and 200,000 yuan in damages. Sustaining Osram's motion, the court invoked evidence preservation measures at Hongfei's premises by sealing tens of thousands alleged products. During court trial, Hongfei's attorney admitted that Hongfei had sold out all the sealed products despite of the court measures.
