In the morning of March 10, Mr. Xiao Yang, President of China Supreme People's Court, and Mr. Jia Chunwang, Attorney General of China Supreme People's Procuratorate, gives their work report to the 3rd Plenary Session of the 1st Meeting of the 11th National People’s Congress about the judicatory protection in China in the past five years.
Mr. Xiao says in his report that Chinese courts at various levels have contributed a lot to punishing various kinds of crimes and safeguard social stability. In the past five years, Chinese courts have settled 2,962 cases involving IPR infringement, and have enforced the judicatory protection to IPR as more than 60,000 civil cases concerning IP with a total value 13.3 billion yuan.
Mr. Jia says in the report that Chinese procuratorial organs have arrested 6,339 suspects because of infringement and piracy of trade mark, copyright and other IPR, and sued 7,448 to the courts. Those indicate the Chinese procuratorial organ’s determination and efforts in enforcing IPR protection.
