The 2007 International Creative Industry Exhibition (Creation Expo Shanghai) is scheduled to open to public from October 16 to 19 at Shanghai International Exhibition Center. In order to assure participating enterprises' interests, Creation Expo Shanghai, themed with "Design, Technology and Life," adopts various measures to strengthen IPR protection. This is the first exhibition of creative industry ever held in Shanghai.

Divided into four sections of "New Value," "New Ecology," "New Culture" and "New Vision," the exhibition includes leading enterprises in creative industry, renown design enterprises, creative parks, design colleges and universities and R&D institutions at home and abroad, demonstrating the current development level of creative industry and the developing trend in various sectors from different angles.

Creation Expo Shanghai also established cooperation relations with competent departments related to IPR protection and invited experts from Shanghai IP Administration and Shanghai Copyright Bureau to participate related forums. Meanwhile, it commissioned professional lawyer institutions to draft Measures on Record-Filing of Exhibition Intellectual Property, Handling System of Exhibit Complaints, and Commitments on Intellectual Property of Participating Enterprises specially for the exhibition. Furthermore, it will strengthen its on-the-spot management to prevent IPR infringement.

Creation Expo Shanghai also gains active supports from more than 10 consulates in Shanghai, including that of Britain, Italy, Sweden and Denmark, and various foreign-related departments, organizations and guilds in terms of exhibition publicity, promotion and audience organization. Some organizations even started to negotiate with exhibition sponsors on the cooperation modes of the next exhibition.
