In answer to a question raised by the correspondent of "China Intellectual Property News" concerning the consensus reached by the China-European Economic and Trade Mixed Committee in terms of protection for intellectual property, Wang pointed out that the China-European Joint Committee on Economic and Trade Cooperation held a meeting on June 12th, 2007 in Brussels where 12 consensuses including protection for intellectual property were reached. The Chinese side has exerted great efforts in terms of protection for intellectual property. This is first of all, out of China's own needs for innovation and development. Wang said that in the several news release conferences held previously, much had already been said about the work of protection for intellectual property in China. On June 9th, 2007, in the CCTV 9 Channel English Dialogue Column, the assistant spokesman from the Ministry of Commerce gave an all-round account in English about China's approaches and efforts in the field of protection for intellectual property. Consensus had been reached in the China-European Mixed Economic and Trade Mixed Committee in this regard. And the efforts made by China in terms of protection for intellectual property was confirmed.
