On the "International Intellectual Property Day" which falls on April 26th, ten major IP civil cases in 2006 were publicized and made known to the society.  These cases involve patents, trademarks, copyright, unfair competition, new varieties of plants and other areas, which aroused the extensive concern of the society at the time.

The ten cases include:

1. Deng Guoshun, Cheng Xiaohua and Shenzhen Langke Technology Co.Ltd., versus Beijing Huaqi Information Digital Science and Technology Co. Ltd., Shenzhen Fu Guang Hui Electronic Co. Ltd., and Shenzhen Xinzhidao Trading Co. Ltd., in a dispute case over patent infringement;

2. Guangzhou Zhong Yi Electronic Co. Ltd., versus SONY Inc. in a dispute case over patent infringement;

3. Xing Yuan Company versus Shanghai Starbucks Cafeteria Co. Ltd. etc., in a dispute case over the exclusive right of registration trademark infringement and unfair competition;

4. Louis Vuitton (LV) Malletier Co. Ltd., versus Shanghai Lianjia Supermarket Co. Ltd., in a dispute case over trademark infringement;

5. Nippon Paint (China) Co. Ltd., versus Zhongshan KEBAN Paint Co. Ltd., and Chen Changming in a dispute case over unfair competition;

6. Chanel Shareholding Co. Ltd., versus Beijing Xiushui Haosen Garment Market Co. Ltd., and Huang Shanwang in a dispute case over the exclusive right of registration trademark infringement;

7. New Balance Athletic Shoe Inc. Company versus Jing Jiang Jujoe Dong Ya Shoes and Garments Co. Ltd., in a dispute case over trademark infringement and unfair competition;

8. Zhu Zhiqiang versus (US) NIKE Company, NIKE (Suzhou) Sport Goods Co. Ltd., Beijing Yuan Tai Century Advertisement Co. Ltd., Beijing Sina Information Technology Co. Ltd., in a dispute case over copyright infringement;

9. Cui Jian versus Shanghai Ke Du Chainstore Supermarket Zhongwei Branch, Huayun Film, TV and Discs Co. Ltd., and China Phonograms (Shenzhen)

Company in a dispute case over copyright and performers' rights infringement;

10. Shanxi Bei Fang Seeds Shareholding Co. Ltd., versus Beijing Ao Rui Jin Seeds Co. Ltd., in a dispute case over new varieties of plants' right infringement.
