The first term of the 101st Guangzhou Trade Fair came to the end on April 20. According to Mr. Xu Bin, the vice secretary and spokesman of the fair, the fair authority had received a total 203 sues concerning IPR infringement, involving 313 enterprises, some 15 percent lower than that in the previous fair.
Among 308 exports companies, 2.17 percent of the total exhibitors, which were sued for IPR infringement, 182 of them were finally approved to infringement, 36 fewer than the previous year, or a 16.7 percent decrease, while 5 of imports companies were sued for IPR infringement, and 2 of them were approved. This is also the first time for the fair to set up a special area for importers.
According to a statistic released by the fair, there were a total of 136,000 business people out of China mainland visiting the fair, 11.9 percent more than the previous fair, and reached US $23.98 billion worth of export agreements in the first term, a 8.1 percent growth comparing the 100th Trade Fair. What is more, more than 1,700 business people from 314 companies representing 36 countries and regions attended the fair in the imports area.
The Second Term of Guangzhou Trade Fair will continue from April 25 to 30.
