2,300 IP Infringement Cases Uncovered in China in 2006
According to news released on the website of the Ministry of Public Security(MPS), beginning from March 2006 when the MPS planned to launch a special action entitled "Hawk No. 1" to crack down upon IP infringement criminals, incomplete statistics shows that by the end of 2006, public security organs across the country docketed about 3,000 cases, uncovered 2,300 of them and arrested 3,600 suspects, and the amount involved aggregated to RMB1.5 billion. This special action dealt a heavy blow on criminals and by large curbed the tendency of IP infringement crimes.
