It was learned the other day from the General Administration of Customs that 15 customs officers were awarded the "outstanding law-enforcement officers" by the World Customs Organization for the significant achievements scored by them in the area of intellectual property protection.
Achievements made by China's Customs in IP protection have in recent years been recognized broadly by the international community. According to statistics, in 2006 the China's Customs found out more than 2,400 cases of IP infringement on import and export goods, valued at over RMB200 million. On June 14, 2006 the Global Anti-counterfeiting Organization awarded China's Customs the "Highly Commended Public Organisation".
