June 8 to 9, Secretary General Yang Tiejun attended the 2005 Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao IP and SME Development Seminar in Jiangmen, Guangdong and delivered an opening speech.  The Seminar, co-organized by Guangdong IP Administration, Jiangmen Government and Hong Kong IP Department, was focusing on how SMEs protect and use IP.

August 29 to September 3, pursuant to the IP cooperation agreement between the Office and Macao Economic Bureau, two examiners from the Bureau attended part of the new examiner's training course at the Office.

November 23 to 25, the Office, Hong Kong IP Department and Macao Economic Bureau jointly organized the Sixth IP Symposium of Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao in Hong Kong.  Deputy Commissioner He Hua led the mainland delegation to the event.
