October, Deputy Commissioner Li Yuguang met Mr. Stephen Selby, Director of the Intellectual Property Department of the Hong Kong Government. Both sides exchanged opinions on how to further intensify IP communication and cooperation. Since the implementation of CEPA, mainland and Hong Kong had a series of effective cooperation, for instance, the Office's measure on patent agent qualification exam open to Hong Kong and Macao.

October 27 to 30, Secretary General Chen Zhonghua attended the IP Symposium of Mainland, Hong Kong and Macao in Macao. It was the fifth such meeting jointly held by the SIPO, HKIPD, and Macao Economic Bureau. The holding the meeting would facilitate smooth development of IP in the three locations.
