CNIPA Deputy Commissioner Heads Delegation to Spain and Switzerland for Working Visits

Hu Wenhui, Deputy Commissioner of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) headed a delegation to Spain and Switzerland upon invitation for working visits recently.

During the visit to Spain, Hu held a talk with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) on trademark examination, protection of geographical indications (GIs) and other issues. During the visit to Switzerland, the CNIPA delegation, with the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IPI), held the 10th CNIPA-IPI official meeting and the 8th industry roundtable under MoU. The delegation also had talks with Daren Tang, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Yolanda Huerta, Vice Secretary-General of the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV) and a host of WIPO department heads, sharing ideas on the protection of trademarks, GIs and new varieties of plants and cooperation with the WIPO's IP service systems.
